Elif. The first letter of the Arabic alphabet — a single vertical stroke, and one of the most quietly symbolic letters in Sufi thought, standing for simplicity, unity, and elegance.
The cap. The upper cap is patterned after the diamond lozenge motif found on the covers of classical tasavvuf books — a detail borrowed straight from the bindings that carry these ideas.
Gold leaf. The lower half of the cap is finished in a golden-yellow acrylic, a nod to the gold leaf (varak) used to gild the pages of those same books.
The body. The body is white, standing for purity and clarity — and at its base, the same diamond pattern from the cap returns, closing the design where it began.
Silver details. The two rings and the clip — shaped after the letter Elif itself — are hand-crafted from 925 sterling silver, worked entirely by hand.
